OUR WORK
Our mission is to empower girls through sport.
At Raising Her Game we are dedicated to improving diversity and representation in girls’ sport, through creating a community where every girl has a pathway to ensure a lifelong love of sport.
Our 3 pillars: Outreach, Camps and Legacy, improve the lives of young people through sport by breaking down barriers to participation, providing safe and accessible spaces for girls to play sport, and building confidence.
OUR
MISSION
OUR WHY
Studies have found that in recent years, youth participation in sport has been too low. Less than 50% of young people in England meet the recommended daily activity levels.
These statistics are worse in London than in the rest of the country, and worse again for girls and young people from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
Our aim is to change this by bringing more sports into more communities, breaking barriers to sport, and creating diverse female role models to inspire a generation of young women to fulfil their potential.
OUR APPROACH
OUTREACH
We provide free female-only spaces for girls, led by women and girls.
We run free sports sessions at local primary schools in London. Led by professional female athletes, we inspire girls from low socio-economic and ethnically diverse backgrounds to join our multi-sports camps.
CAMP
During school holidays we host free multi-sports camps, led by diverse female coaches, offering rugby, hockey & football. Everything at camp is free including kit, equipment, food and drinks
We run ‘Talk Time’ with elite athletes, discussing important topics to help overcome barriers.
LEGACY
To ensure continued participation, we provide a supportive “Camp to Club” paathway. We connect girls with our carefully selected local ‘partner clubs’, helping them grow and thrive in their new sport, with financial assistance as necessary.
