Safeguarding at a Glance

Raising Her Game is committed to creating a safe, positive and inclusive environment where all young people can enjoy sport and reach their potential.

Our Commitment

All children and young people under 18 have the right to be protected from harm.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.

We listen to young people, respect their views and take all concerns seriously.

Reporting a Concern

Immediate danger or medical emergency: Call 999 and state there is a child protection concern.

Non-emergency concerns: Report to the Welfare Officer as soon as possible.

Record what you have seen or heard, including dates and times if you can.

Concerns may also be referred to Local Authority Children’s Social Care or the Police when appropriate.

Who This Applies To

This safeguarding policy applies to all Raising Her Game Trustees, employees, contractors, ambassadors and volunteers.

How We Keep Young People Safe

Raising Her Game:

Appoints a trained Welfare Officer whose details are shared with participants and families

Uses DBS and Enhanced DBS checks where required

Ensures all coaches and staff working with young people complete safeguarding training

Follows clear reporting and recording procedures

Provides safe, inclusive and supportive environments

Carries out risk assessments for facilities and activities

Manages changing facilities safely, with appropriate supervision

Reviews safeguarding policies at least every two years
